Disclaimer

This app is a discovery and educational tool. It identifies products from photos and shows you how they connect to publicly listed companies, so you can understand the ecosystem behind the things around you.

None of the content in this app is investment advice. Nothing here is a recommendation, endorsement, or solicitation to buy, sell, or hold any security, and nothing here should be treated as a suggestion to buy or avoid any company's shares. The app does not provide financial, legal, tax, or accounting advice, and it does not take your personal circumstances, objectives, or risk tolerance into account.

This app is the same for everyone. We do not collect or use your financial situation, income, holdings, goals, or risk tolerance, and nothing in the app is selected, ranked, or adjusted for you.

We are not a broker, a broker-dealer, or a registered investment adviser. We have no relationship with any company shown in this app. We are not paid by them, we receive nothing if you buy any security, and no company pays to appear here or to be shown more prominently.

On accuracy. Product identification is automated and can be wrong. Company ownership information is drawn from public regulatory filings and third-party data, which may be incomplete, out of date, or incorrectly matched. Where no publicly listed owner exists, the app may show a listed company that operates in the same market, purely as a point of reference for understanding that market. That company does not make the product you scanned and has no connection to it. It is not a substitute for the maker, and it is not a suggestion to buy its shares.

Prices, ratios, and market data are provided by third parties, may be delayed, and are not guaranteed to be accurate. Each result reflects the moment it was generated. We do not monitor, update, or review results afterwards, and we have no obligation to tell you if any of it changes.

Do your own research and speak with a licensed financial professional before making any investment decision. You are solely responsible for your own decisions.

What we collect

  • Photos you scan. The picture you take or upload, so we can identify the product in it.
  • Your scan history. What was identified, the company and ticker we matched it to, our reasoning, and the date.
  • Your email address, only if you choose to register. You can use the app without one.
  • Basic visit statistics. Which pages were opened, roughly which country, and which site sent you. This uses no cookies and no advertising identifiers, and it cannot follow you to other websites.
  • Which buttons you press on a result card. When you tap Buy or Yahoo Finance we record the ticker, the date, and which one you pressed, so we can see which companies people are interested in. No IP address, no device information.

What we do not collect

We never ask for and never use anything about your money: no income, no holdings, no goals, no risk tolerance. We do not build a profile of you, we do not sell your data, and we run no advertising trackers.

Location is removed from your photos

Phones normally embed GPS coordinates in a picture. Before your photo leaves your device we re-encode it, which strips that location data and other embedded camera information. We never receive it.

How long we keep photos: 10 days

Your scan photos are automatically deleted 10 days after the scan. The result of the scan, the company and ticker, stays in your history until you delete it.

Deleting your data

Above your saved scans there is a "Delete all my scans" button. Using it permanently deletes your entire scan history and every photo you have ever scanned, from both our database and our file storage. This cannot be undone.

Shared scans are public

If you share a scan, anyone with that link can see it, including its photo, for as long as the photo exists. Only people you send the link to will have it, but the link itself is not password protected.

Who else handles your data

  • Google processes your photo to identify the product in it.
  • Supabase stores your scans, photos and account.
  • Vercel hosts the app and provides the visit statistics.
  • Finnhub, Yahoo Finance, the SEC and CorpWatch provide company and share-price information. They only ever receive a brand or company name. They never receive your photo, your email, or anything about you.

Where it is stored

Our database and photo storage are in the European Union. Some of the services above operate in the United States.

Age

This app is not intended for children under 16.
